ALTIN YUMURTLAYAN TAVUĞU KESMEK

İlkokulda çizgi-resimler eşliğinde okuduğum ve en çok etkilendiğim öğretici masallardan birisidir altın yumurtlayan tavuğu kesmek.

Kısaca hatırlayalım yoksulluktan zenginliğe geçişi ve akabinde hırsın ağır bedelini.

Bir varmış, bir yokmuş. Evvel zamanlarda bir vakit şirin bir köyde yoksul bir köylü çiftçi yaşarmış. Bu çiftçi tavukları çok severmiş, her gün tavukları beslermiş ama bir tavuğu varmış ki çok özelmiş. Özelliği ise altın yumurtluyor olmasıymış, çiftçi her gün altından olan yumurtayı şehre götürüp kuyumcuda bozdururmuş.

Bu böyle giderken yoksul çiftçi giderek zenginleşmeye başlamış, zenginleştikçe çiftçi değişmiş artık para kazanıp geçinmek için çalışmaya gerek duymuyormuş. Çiftçi her gün altın yumurtlayan tavuğun yumurtasını satarak geçiniyormuş. Çok geçmeden çiftçi gereksiz şeylere harcamaya başlamış bu parayı ve bir süre sonra yetmemeye başlamış.

Çiftçi artık tavuğu sevip okşamıyor ona eskisi kadar değer verip sevmiyormuş. Çiftçi zamanla tavuğun karnında bir hazine olduğunu düşünmeye başlamış. Eğer tavuğu kesip karnındaki hazineyi alırsa ömür boyu zengin yaşayacağını düşünmüş.

Çiftçi açgözlü olmaya başlamış ve bir gün elinde bir bıçak ile kümese girmiş. Tavuk çiftçiyi öyle görünce kaçmaya başlamış. Çiftçi kararlıymış, tavuğu yakalamış ve anında kesmiş.

Hemen tavuğun karnını kesip merak için karnına bakmış ama bir de ne görsün? Tavuğun karnı ne altın doluymuş ne de hazine varmış. Aç gözlülük yaptığını o anda anlamış ve pişman olmuş. Fakat tavuk öldüğü için iş işten geçmiş.

İnanan her insan dünyanın pay ahiretin payda olduğunu bilir ve bütün hesabı dünya üzerine yapmaz.

Mümin dünyadan tabii ki nasibini unutmaz (Kasas, 28/77) ama asıl hayatın ve istikbalin ahiret hayatı (Ankebut, 29/64) olduğunu da unutmaz.

İmtihan için bize emanet olarak verilen her bir nimet aslında “altın yumurtlayan tavuk” gibidir dostlar.

Onları sabırla besler, iyi bakar, gönülden sever, değer ve emek verirseniz son nefesinize kadar dünya gözüyle gördüğünüz kadar size “altın yumurta” yumurtlamanın yanında; siz vefat ettikten sonra da kıyamete kadar altın yumurtaları büyüterek yumurtlamaya devam ederler.

Kanaatsizlikle, hırsla ve aceleyle tavuğun içinde hazine bulunduğu zannıyla onları keserseniz dünya ve ahiretiniz ziyan olur.

Killing the Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs

One of the most impactful and educational fairy tales I read in elementary school, accompanied by illustrations, is the story of killing the hen that laid the golden eggs.

Let's briefly recall the transition from poverty to wealth and the subsequent heavy price of greed.

Once upon a time, in a charming village, there lived a poor peasant farmer. This farmer loved his chickens very much and fed them every day, but he had one hen that was very special. Its special feature was that it laid golden eggs. Every day, the farmer would take the golden egg to the city and sell it to the jeweler. As this continued, the poor farmer gradually began to get richer, and as he got richer, he changed. He no longer felt the need to work to earn money and make a living. The farmer lived by selling the eggs of the hen that laid golden eggs every day. Before long, the farmer began to spend this money on unnecessary things, and after a while, it was not enough.

The farmer no longer petted or loved the hen as much as before. Over time, he began to believe there was a treasure hidden in its belly. He thought that if he killed the hen and took the treasure, he would live a rich life forever. The farmer became greedy, and one day he entered the henhouse with a knife. When the hen saw him, it started to run away. The farmer was determined; he caught the hen and killed it immediately.

He cut open the hen's belly and looked inside out of curiosity, but what did he see? The hen's belly was neither full of gold nor treasure. He realized his greed at that moment and regretted it. But since the hen was dead, it was too late.

Every believer knows that this world is a share of the hereafter and does not base all their calculations on this world.

A believer certainly doesn't forget his share of this world (Al-Qasas, 28/77), but he also doesn't forget that the real life and future is the hereafter (Al-Ankabut, 29/64).

Every blessing entrusted to us for testing is like a "hen that lays golden eggs," my friends. If you feed them patiently, take good care of them, love them wholeheartedly, and value and invest effort in them, they will continue to lay golden eggs for you until your last breath, and even after you die, they will continue to grow and lay golden eggs until the Day of Judgment.

If you kill them with discontent, greed, and haste, thinking there is treasure inside, you will lose both your worldly and afterlife existence.

Please look at every blessing given to you, including your body, from this perspective as well.
